CityStudio Vancouver is seeking a Marketing and Communications Specialist with outstanding past experience to join our team!
Working closely with the CityStudio team, the Marketing and Communications Specialist is responsible for the successful marketing, communications and public relations activities for CityStudio Vancouver charity and our two pillars – the Vancouver Program and the Global Sharing Program. This includes strategic communications planning, written and visual storytelling, marketing collateral development, relationship building, brand consistency and integrity, social media and website management, project management and organizational support.
Celebrating 9 years in 2021, the Vancouver Program has worked with five local post secondary schools and the City of Vancouver to develop more that 1000 projects, together with 6644 students and 306 city staff.
Vancouver is the lead member of a growing network of CityStudios in our CityStudio Global Program, a one-stop-shop for cities and universities to work together for innovation, community service and civic benefit. Under this program, CityStudio licenses cities across Canada and around the world to operate their own innovative programs under the CityStudio name and includes access to our trademark, training and network membership through a shared platform. There are currently 10 CityStudios in Canada, two in Australia, and one in Norway. The Global Sharing Program celebrates its fifth anniversary in 2021.
It will be your responsibility to develop, attain approvals and successfully enact a Marketing and Communications Strategy for each of CityStudio’s two programs as well as their interrelationships. This, combined with your hands-on skills, is key to helping advance our mission of city building with youth.
What you bring to the team:
- A minimum of five years direct, progressive experience working in marketing and communications, ideally in the education, innovation, community-building, civic and/or non-profit sectors
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, or other related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Demonstrable experience developing and implementing successful marketing and communications strategies
- Proven experience in media and public relations
- Proven excellence in writing, editing, and key message development for a range of diverse audiences
- Experience working with and managing other creatives
- Self-set high standards that holds the organization and team members accountable to best practices in the communications field
- Equal parts confidence, curiosity and collaboration

POSITION:
Full time, permanent position, with standard 3-month probationary period.
REPORTS TO:
Executive Director
LOCATION:
Remote / CityStudio Vancouver, 1800 Spyglass Place
HOURS: 37.5 hours/week, Monday to Friday
COMPENSATION RANGE:
$57,000 – $64,000 per annum based on experience, plus benefits, after the probationary period.
START DATE:
As soon as possible.
