The year was 2010 and the City of Vancouver was alive with ambition and plans to become the greenest city in the world.
They were asking for big ideas to help make that happen. Our idea was CityStudio. We imagined students – with their hope, energy and enthusiasm – at the heart of City Hall helping to solve the city’s most complex problems.

Hearing this, the Deputy City Manager said “Yes!” and the City gave us keys to an office under a bridge…
