Summary

We believe that every small business has a compelling story to share. From this idea, artogo was birthed. Our business artogo provides an interactive and self-guided iOS app that delivers the first ever digital art gallery experience providing NFT art, cultural storytelling, and a location-based travel guide to small but mighty local business patronage.

We created artogo to increase engagement between: small businesses wanting to adapt to new times, up-and-coming local artists looking for amplification, and community members in search of something interesting to do in their area. Our business encourages a more walkable and complete neighbourhood in alignment with the City of Vancouver’s 2030 Climate Emergency Action Plan, as small businesses will likely be the hardest hit and most early affected by climate change in our city. Our business addresses this potential reality by creating a service that combats the need for car use and promotes walkability, while also promoting more local business patronage and encourages storytelling through the form of a new and innovative style of art.

Through this project we’ve learnt that groups aren’t necessarily lacking a willingness to engage. It’s more so that they’re seeking resources to make it happen. As artogo’s popularity increases, more patrons will immerse themselves in a culturally rich adventure and recognize the small businesses that build their neighbourhoods.
