Sabrina Hauser

Sabrina is a connector, systems thinker, and design researcher who brings curiosity and a collaborative spirit to the CityStudio. At UBC’s VP Research & Innovation Office, she builds and nurtures partnerships that bridge academic research with real-world challenges—often working at the intersection of technology, society, and sustainability.
Her background blends human-centered design, technology ethics, information science, and innovation strategy. Sabrina holds a PhD in Human-Computer Interaction from SFU’s School of Interactive Arts and Technology, and her work focuses on shaping programs and systems with purpose—toward a future where technological innovation is guided by human values, ethical reflection, and historical awareness.
Sabrina is passionate about the use of design as a means to bridge knowledge and impact, and about equipping changemakers to navigate complexity with creativity and care. Originally from Germany, Sabrina moved to Canada in 2011 and now calls East Vancouver home.
