
Azlan Nur Saidy
Azlan is an engagement specialist, urban planner and CityStudio alumnus. Once he graduated from SFU, he continued his CityStudio journey as a research assistant for the Outdoor Learning Project. In this role, Azlan facilitated design processes for students, to create outdoor education projects in city parks. His experiences growing up in Surrey’s Muslim community have made him passionate about climate justice and broadening the diversity of civic engagement,to help solve the wicked problems that cities face.
Azlan is completing his Masters in Community and Regional Planning at UBC. He is currently working as an engagement lead for UBC’s Campus and Community Planning Department. He also serves as an elected equity coordinator for the Planning Student Association. Previously, he has worked for MODUS Planning, Design & Engagement, served on Translink’s Youth Advisory Council, and was a Muslim Community Fellow for the Centre of Comparative Muslim Studies.
