Collaborating with CityStudio

CityStudio Vancouver is an innovation hub where City staff, students, faculty and community work together to design experimental projects that make Vancouver more sustainable, liveable, joyful, and inclusive.

Since 2011, students from six public post-secondary institutions across Vancouver have worked directly with City staff to research, design and implement projects on the ground — including improvements to zero waste stations, designs for outdoor learning, transit advocacy, and biodiversity mapping.

This service is free for City of Vancouver staff, including staff from the Vancouver Economic Commission, Vancouver Board of Parks and Recreation, Vancouver Public Libraries and Community Centres.

Description of the project idea *
What would a useful project deliverable look like for you? *

Strategic plan this project would serve *
ie. Greenest City Action Plan, Healthy City for All, Engaged City Taskforce, New Start Strategy etc.
For a course collaboration to be successful we've learned that a time commitment of 10 hours is required *
Please note that complex projects may require more time. The time commitment includes: (1) A project scoping meeting with an instructor before the academic term begins. (2) An initial class visit or meeting with students to launch the project. (3) A midpoint feedback session via email, phone, or in-person meeting. (4) Attendance at course final presentation. (5) Attendance at CityStudio's HUBBUB showcase.
